We are happy to announce that the ESM has published the 2023 ESG Summary Report. In this second edition, the report includes the ESG scores for both the ESM and EFSF balance sheets, as well as a historical perspective for our loans' ESG scores. Furthermore, the ESM has begun integrating climate risk considerations into its risk management framework, as well as incorporating climate-related risks in the ESM's monitoring framework.
In response to climate change risks, the European Union (EU) Member States plan for climate neutrality by 2050, in line with a commitment to global climate action under the Paris Agreement. [1] To reach that goal, the EU turned the carbon neutrality plan into binding European law through legislation and policies.
