Arndt-Gerrit Kund

Arndt-Gerrit Kund is a Financial Sector and Market Expert at the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). He monitors the resilience of the Euro Area banking sector and contributes to policy around the Banking Union and Capital Markets Union. In addition, he participates in ESM post-programme activities.

Previously, Mr Kund worked at the European Central Bank, where he supervised several large German banks and contributed to the European bank stress testing exercise. Before that he gained insights in qualitative and quantitative risk management at UniCredit and Commerzbank.

Mr Kund holds a Ph.D. in Banking from the University of Cologne and an M.Sc. in Risk Management from the Ingolstadt School of Management, as well as an MIM in Banking and Financial Markets from the Toulouse Business School. He also completed a B.Sc. in Finance at the University of Münster and was a visiting scholar at the Copenhagen Business School. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and focuses on bank resilience and systemic risk. He is an experienced lecturer for numerous German universities and serves as a referee for several academic journals.
