
Andreas Zachariades
Mr Andreas Zachariades is Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of Cyprus.
Andreas Zachariades was born in Nicosia in 1967.
He graduated from the English School in Nicosia in 1986 and studied Economics and Accounting at the University of Southampton, graduating in 1991.
He worked for the Audit Firm KPMG in the United Kingdom and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 1994. He returned to Cyprus and continued to work for the same firm until 1997 until he was appointed at the Treasury of the Republic as an Accountant.
He served as Head of the fiscal management unit of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance, in the Internal Audit Directorate and in the Public Procurement Directorate of the Treasury of the Republic. In 2006 he was appointed Director of Internal Audit at the Internal Audit Service of the Republic.
From November 3, 2010 until August 31st, 2020, he served as Deputy Accountant General of the Republic, in accordance with article 126 of the Constitution.
He was appointed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance for the period of 1 September 2020 to 16 June 2024.
He was appointed, by the Council of Ministers, as a Member of the Cyprus Gaming and Casino Supervision Authority from January 27, 2017 to January 27, 2023 and on June 28, 2023 as a President of the Public Supervision Commission of the Audit Profession.
He held the post of Permanent Secretary of the Directorate General Growth, Ministry of Finance for the period of 17 June 2024 to 31 October 2024.
