Dr Nicholas O’Brien is the Assistant Secretary General with responsibility for the EU & International Division in Ireland’s Department of Finance. He is Ireland’s representative on the EU’s Economic and Financial Committee and on the Eurogroup Working Group.
Previously he served as Deputy Head of Mission at Ireland’s Embassy in Berlin (2008-2011) and as Consul General of Ireland in Shanghai (2004-2008). He also served in various roles in the Department of Finance.
