ESM Briefs: the ESM’s new quarterly economic publication
ESM Briefs is a new publication where ESM staff members contribute to debates that are relevant to the institution’s mandate. This includes topics such as economics, finance, financial stability, Economic and Monetary Union, financial markets, and fiscal policy.
ESM Briefs present, in a condensed format, in-depth research and insightful analysis, bridging the gap between our technical publications (Working and Discussion Papers) and the ESM blog (designed for the broad public). The new format will allow the ESM to share, to a greater degree, the findings of its extensive research activities with the public.
The target audience of ESM Briefs are educated readers with a strong interest in economic and policy developments in the euro area. By making economics accessible and applicable to everyday life, the publication aims to help readers better understand and navigate the current economic policy debates. This is particularly important at a time when the euro area economy is facing significant long-term challenges (population ageing, climate change, geopolitical fragmentation).
